2011 CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE
'Tis the season to give
and that's exactly what the Active 20-30 Club of Bakersfield does best. The annual event, "Christmas Experience"
aims to provide each in-need family with toys and clothing for every child, plus a one-hundred dollar food voucher
and Christmas tree. Despite the struggling economy in 2009-10, local residents and businesses reached deep into their
pockets and raised over $30,000, which is enough money to sponsor over 50 families totaling over 200 children each year. After all of
the funds are raised, the 20-30 Club teams up with several other organizations to shop for, wrap and deliver the
hundreds of gifts to needy families in Kern County.
